Migration agents have enough to manage without chasing skills-assessment paperwork across three different authorities. Skills Recognition International (RTO 32373) is a dedicated RPL partner for migration agencies — we help you lodge skills-assessment evidence, deliver nationally recognised Australian qualifications, and give your clients a documented pathway that strengthens their visa applications.

We’ve been doing exactly this since 2015, with teams in China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Germany, and we work with migration agents daily.

The problem migration agents face

Skills-assessment documentation is slow, fragmented, and time-consuming. A single client file can touch Trades Recognition Australia, VETASSESS, and the Australian Computer Society depending on occupation — each with its own evidence requirements and its own turnaround times. Agents end up triaging queries from clients who just want to know where their file is, without the visibility to answer.

The quality of the underlying qualification evidence matters, too. ASQA has publicly flagged concerns about RTOs issuing qualifications through thin or cursory RPL processes. A rigorous, well-documented RPL assessment is what makes the qualification credible to the skills-assessment authority — and credible to the Department of Home Affairs when the visa decision-maker reviews the file.

The SRI migration agent partnership

We’ve built a partnership programme specifically for MARA-registered migration agents and their teams. As a partner you get:

No per-seat fees. You pay for the RPL assessments your clients complete — nothing else.

How the partnership works

  1. Register as a partner. Complete a short onboarding form and we’ll verify your MARA registration.
  2. Get portal access. You and up to five nominated staff receive partner dashboard logins within 48 hours.
  3. Lodge client files. For each client: upload the evidence pack, identify the target qualification, and submit.
  4. Assessment runs. An SRI assessor reviews the evidence, requests anything missing, and conducts the competency conversation with your client.
  5. Certificate issued. Once awarded, the nationally recognised qualification is delivered electronically to the client and copied to you for their visa file.

Typical turnaround, when evidence is complete, is two to eight weeks — faster for Certificate-level qualifications, longer for Diploma and Graduate-level.

Qualifications relevant to skilled migration

SRI offers 29 online RPL courses across the verticals most commonly used in skilled migration pathways:

A full course list is available on our courses page. If your client’s target qualification isn’t on our list, tell us — we can often source it through our partner RTO network.

How we sit alongside the skills-assessment authority

To be clear: SRI is the RTO that issues the qualification. The skills-assessment authority (TRA, VETASSESS, ACS, Engineers Australia, etc.) does the assessment for the visa. Our role is to make sure the qualification evidence is rigorous, complete, and well-documented so that when the authority reviews it, there are no surprises.

SRI does not provide migration advice — that’s MARA-regulated and your remit. We focus on the qualification; you focus on the visa strategy.

Why migration agents choose SRI

Frequently asked questions

Is SRI endorsed by MARA?

MARA is the regulator for migration agents, not for RTOs. MARA does not endorse RTOs. SRI’s credentials are with ASQA (RTO 32373) and the AQF, which is the correct chain for a qualification-issuing body.

Do I need to be MARA-registered to partner?

Yes. Partner access is limited to MARA-registered migration agents and their nominated staff. We verify registration during onboarding.

How does pricing work for agents?

We offer volume-based partner pricing on top of our standard RPL fees. Pricing is commercially sensitive and discussed on a partnership call. There are no per-seat portal fees.

Can my assistants have partner sub-accounts?

Yes. Each partner account supports up to five nominated staff logins. You control who has access.

Which assessing authorities accept SRI qualifications?

Because SRI-issued qualifications are nationally recognised and AQF-aligned, they are accepted as evidence by any authority that recognises Australian VET qualifications — TRA for trades, VETASSESS for general professional occupations, ACS for ICT, Engineers Australia for engineering. Each authority has its own assessment process beyond the qualification itself; confirm current requirements with the relevant body for your client’s occupation.

What’s the typical turnaround?

Two to eight weeks for most qualifications once evidence is complete. The biggest variable is how quickly the client can provide their evidence pack.
